Zunheboto Government College, Department of History, joyfully celebrated World Folklore Day on 22nd August, 2025, under the theme “Bridging Generations Through Folklore.” The celebration highlighted the timeless role of folklore in connecting the wisdom of the past with the aspirations of the present.

The Theme Speaker, Mr. Zhekugha Assumi, Principal Step by Step School, Zunheboto, Secretary-Sumi Literature Board, Member-Advisory Board, ZGC, & president of Executive council, SBAK, in his address, emphasized the significance of folklore as a living bridge that not only preserves traditions but also strengthens community identity. Drawing particular attention to the Sümi tribe, he underlined how folklore safeguards cultural heritage and plays a vital role in keeping collective memory alive.
